Dress to kill - "CAKE OR DEATH?!"

Recently, I stumbled across a great video of a stand-up comedian called Eddie Izzard. Intrigued, I hunted for the whole video of the show and saw it .Well folks, that extra ordinary stand up show is the Dress to kill by Eddie Izzard.
Now, who is a stand-up comedian?
Just imagine a stage, where you are gonna have to go and talk humorously for ,say, some 10 minutes to some hundreds of people. Would not that be difficult?
Well, here a stand-up comedian is one, who goes to that stage and performs a succession of humorous stories and jokes , monologues, humorous one liners etc., for more than an hour. Truth be told, songs, music, magic tricks… anything goes, but remember you have to make them laugh for the whole time.That is the golden rule and a very difficult one at that.
When you talk about an actor and a stand up comedian , there really could be no comparison as the actor has everything borrowed, starting from his dialog to the shoes and clothes he is gonna wear.
But not a comedian. He will only have his wit and intelligence with him. He also has to be spontaneous. Apart from the rehearsed stuff, while in a stage, he also has to do spontaneous comedy based on the comments of the audience.
It is said that it will take a stand-up comedian years to perfect his stand-up performance for about an hour.
Having said this, now let us see the one of the greatest stand-up comedians now.
Eddie Izzard is a British stand-up comedian, who is most famous for his shows like, Dress to Kill,Unrepeatable, Definite Article, Glorious, Circle, Sexie and Stripped.
Now, let us see about this particular show, Dress to kill. But, before doing so, I would like to tell you two things.
He is British, which would help you throughout the show on his stand points.
He is a transvestite.
The video starts with Eddie mocking the San Francisco city, where he is staging. When everybody shows their disapproval by hissing, he suddenly laughs and says,
“And you're a city of snakes, I see.
(Hisses) Everyone goes to a gig with a snake in their bag. No other cities have snakes as much as you. New York, no snakes. Paris, London, no snakes.
San Francisco,full of snakes! We did that at school.So you can call it "the City".
The crowd starts clapping. See, one minute he was being jeered at, but the next minute, due to his wit, he gains claps. That’s what is about being a stand-up comedian is about…
You have to be witty, innovative and you also have to improvise a lot.

Ranging from Stonehenge, Queen Victoria, Hitler, British colonization to Virginity , this video was greatly funny and intelligent. I especially liked the jokes he made on Britain and Hitler. Watch out for his flag joke. It is quite very ingenious. And the reactions he makes are quite funny. But, watch out. He is not the usual kind of comedian who relies on Racist jokes or insults or gross comments. This guy rather believes in his wit to make intelligent and sharp jokes. Truly, he is one of the gifted comedians….

Go here to watch the complete show.But,be aware.He is not an usual stand-up comedian who believes that sarcasm means passing up racist comments.Certainly not like Russell peters.He is a highly intellectual,demanding,witty comedian.
Note: This video is a bit tough to understand as it involves a lot of things about american and british history, their culture and all that. So, the first time you might not be able to grasp everything he says. But, when you see it the second time or the third, you will realize his wit and timeliness.
